The Copperhead version of Shock & Awe was launched against the competition this weekend in the USSSA Battle of Gastonia.  Our first game in this 5-team round-robin event would be against the Carolina Dragons from Charlotte.  Tremendous pitching by Zippy & Iceman backed up by the errorless Copperhead defense and bats ended this one in 4 innings 13-0.  Our second game against the Carolina Vipers from Denver allowed Iggy to display his best with Lefty to close it out for the 8-0 victory.  Game 3 Sunday afternoon found us facing the Indian Trail Bobcats where General Lefty commanded from the hill and threw his first no hitter and lead the team to a 16-1 victory.  Our last game would find us playing the Rocky River Gators from Concord.  XXL started from the moums followed by Iggy and T-Man to close as the boys maintained their aggressive offensive and dominated the gators 12-4 for the tournament win.  Our boys showed their best this weekend scoring 49 runs while allowing only 5 runs in our 4 games.  GREAT JOB BOYS and congratulations on winning the Battleof Gastonia for the 2nd year in a row!!!
